The Ring of Tatters displays the work of its members at about a dozen needlecraft shows around the UK each year; some local tatting groups also put on exhibitions. This is an opportunity to tell the public about tatting and teach them informally how to do it. Being shown how to flip the knot, person to person, a complete beginner can often learn in a few minutes what is so hard to learn from a book.
Naturally, we encourage visitors to become members and we tell them about our newsletter, local groups they can contact, and the global tatting village of 1100 members they will be joining!
We are always wanting more volunteers to help out at the Shows. You don't need to be an expert, as long as you enjoy tatting and chatting and are happy to show individuals how to tat. Also you get to see the rest of the show for free.
