Materials required

No. 20 Crochet cotton,  1 shuttle,  small beads,  small plastic (or brass) ½” ring.  (I used plastic Austrian/festoon blind rings which measure ½” in diameter and cost VERY little!)

3 beads on chain thread & one on shuttle thread all moved into position.  (see fig. 2)

Method

Add 6 beads to the shuttle thread & 42 beads to chain thread before starting.   Also further beads are needed for adding to picots.

Start with clover of: –

R1:       3 – 3 – 3 – 3

*R2:     3 +B(R1) 3 +(RG) 3 – 3

R3:       3 +B(R2) 3 – 3 – 3

Ch:       4 B 4

R4:       2 +B(R3) 2 – 2

Ch:       5 B 5 ^BBB_B 5 B5

R5:       2 +B(R4) 2 – 2

Ch:       4 B 4

R6:       3 +B(last p R5) 3 +(2^nd p R3) 3 – 3

Repeat from * five times (6 points) joining 3^rd ring of last clover to 2^nd p of R1 and last R5 to 1^st p of R1  T & C
