Linda Dickie

All Hallow's Eve

A time for mischief, magic, mystery and superstition, when the dead are said to rise from their graves.

On a background of patchwork fabrics printed with Halloween imagery, Linda has tatted pumpkins, ghosts, a skeleton, a gingerbread man, a cat, a bat and more, and captured the fun of it all with Boo! - that's what children say when jumping out on people to give them a fright!

Back of picture. In keeping with the other aspect of Halloween, Linda commemorates her grandmother and her 1907 sewing machine, used for assembling this wall hanging.

Photographs by Peter Dewhurst of Troon, Cornwall.
